The Guelph Minor Hockey Association's house league championship weekend finishes up the GMHA season April 1-2 in six age divisions, ranging from U9 to U18.

Saturday

DIY Baby Chick Photo Day and Egg Hunt

8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Parkwood Gardens Community Church

Take pics with baby chicks and enjoy an egg hunt with the kids. The event is free, and donations will support Michael House Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services.

Celebrate Spring: Ladies Day Out Vendor Fair

8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - New Life Church, 400 Victoria Rd. N. Guelph

An inspiring day of workshops, market place vendors and creativity. Ticket price is $60 and includes snacks, lunch & door prizes. For tickets and more information, please go to www.michaelhouse.ca or call 519.766.7675

All proceeds raised will go to support Michael House, an organization that provides shelter and support to pregnant and parenting women and their children.

House League Hockey Championships

Saturday at 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday

The Guelph Minor Hockey Association's house league championship weekend finishes up the GMHA season April 1-2 in six age divisions, ranging from U9 to U18.

Games will take place on both University of Guelph rinks, as well as down the road at Centennial Arena. It all begins on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., and wraps up at 9 p.m. Sunday.

There is also a skills competition at the U18 level Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on the gold rink at U of G, marking the last season for those players at GMHA.

Relax and Rejuvenate Meditation Workshop

Saturday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Avalokiteshvara Kadampa Buddhist Centre

 In this brief workshop, participants will learn the basics of meditation so that you can practice with confidence and joy. This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone wishing to improve the quality of their meditations. Everyone is welcome.

R&R Event: Reiki, Readings and Aromatherapy

Try reiki, Aromatherapy, a reading or all three.

20 minute sessions:

Aromatherapy Consultation $30

10 per cent of proceeds will be donated to Hospice Wellington.

Photo Hike at Yorklands Green Hub

Sunday, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. 785 York Rd., east of Victoria. (meet at the main gate)

Come out for a hike at Yorklands Green Hub with Bob Fanning, past president of Focus on Nature, and bring your camera.

(park on the south side of York, without blocking the main gate or bus stop. No bathrooms on site.

Tartan Day

Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Downtown Fergus

Come out for some Celtic-style music, a History Walk, the launch of 'Mystery Fergus Beer' and "the 'McKiddies Highland Games' for kids, complete with a LARP archer and caber toss (TD parking lot). Everyone is invited to visit the local shops and join in the fun festivities.
