Residents have several opportunities over the next three weeks to talk about the city’s proposed 2018 budget with their Ward Councillors and Mayor Guthrie. There will be six Town Halls focused on the budget, as well as a Ward 2 meeting on general Ward and city issues.
Here is the schedule:
Thursday, Nov. 9
- Ward 3 Town Hall with Councillors Phil Allt and June Hofland at City Hall, 4 to 8 p.m. This is a drop-in style meeting; residents are invited to come by any time between 4 and 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 14
- Mayor’s Budget Town Hall at City Hall, 7 to 9 p.m.
- Ward 2 meeting on Ward and City issues with Councillors James Gordon and Andy Van Hellemond. Guelph Youth Music Centre, 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 16
- Mayor’s Budget Town Hall at Clair Road Emergency Services Centre, 7 to 9 p.m.
- Ward 1 Budget Town Hall with Councillors Dan Gibson and Bob Bell at Victoria Road Recreation Centre, 7 to 9 p.m.
- Ward 3 Budget Town Hall with Councillors Phil Allt and June Hofland at City Hall, 4 to 8 p.m. (residents are invited to drop-in any time between 4 and 8 p.m.)
Monday, Nov. 20
- Ward 6 Budget Town Hall with Councillors Karl Wettstein and Mark MacKinnon at the Clair Road Emergency Services Centre, 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 21
- Mayor’s Facebook Live Budget Town Hall beginning at 7 p.m. Participants can join Mayor Guthrie via live video stream and post questions and comments.
Council approved the 2018 non-tax supported operating budget and 2018 capital budget on Nov. 2. Staff will present the city’s operating budget to Council on Nov. 8, and Council will deliberate on and approve the operating budget on Dec. 5.
