The rest of the province might prefer Olivia and Noah, but Guelph prefers Emma, Evelyn and William when it comes to naming our babies.
The provincial government's Service Ontario celebrated 100 years of keeping track of baby names by releasing the most popular baby names registered across the province, and by city, for 2017.
The top girls name province-wide was Olivia while the top boys name was Noah. They were both ranked fourth when it came to Guelph baby names.
For the past 100 years the top names registered in Ontario are Marie and Joseph.
