A special event for women and non-binary individuals featuring a roster of notable guest speakers is planned for Guelph Oct. 22.

The day-long Stories We Tell Ourselves event takes place at the Delta Hotel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guest speakers include Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik and University of Guelph professor and sexuality expert Robin Milhausen.

"This empowering event aims to unite women and non-binary folks in a day of learning and connection, focusing on emotional, financial, mental, and hormonal health," said a news release.

Dr. Zajdlik will speak about menopause, hormone replacement therapy (now called menopausal replacement therapy) and pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder.

Milhausen will share her insights on the factors that spark intimacy and desire in relationships.

Conference organizer Tracey Curtis, a financial advisor for 32 years, will also discuss the money stories driving our spending and saving decisions.

The conference will be moderated by Marva Wisdom, a senior fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy (U of T) focusing on Equity, Inclusion and Women’s Issues.

The day will include an expert panel on mental health, linking our stories featuring CMHA CEO Helen Fishburn, Alison DeMuy of CMHA and leadership coach Karen Fitzpatrick.
