KITCHENER – The Guelph Storm just can't catch a break these days.
Despite another solid effort, they came out on the losing end of a one-goal game Tuesday, falling 4-3 to the KItchener Rangers.
It was Guelph's seventh straight loss and combined with Owen Sound's overtime win over Oshawa Tuesday leaves them in sixth place in the Western Conference.
Hunter Brzustewicz scored what turned out to be the winning goal at 16:43 of the third period, a power play shot from the point that beat Damian Slavik.
That made it 4-2, with the Storm's Braeden Bowman scoring on the power play a minute later to set up an exciting, but scoreless, finish.
Brody Crane and Gavin Grundner had the other Storm goals. Cameron Mercer, Tanner Lamb and Eduard Sale had the other Kitchener goals.
KItchener outshot Guelph 27-21.
The Storm looks to snap its losing skid Thursday in Peterborough. Friday they host Erie.
