Buchinger leads Guelph Storm contingent ranked for NHL draft

Defenceman Michael Buchinger leads the way as the highest-ranked Guelph Storm player by NHL Central Scouting heading into the National Hockey League Draft.

Buchinger is ranked 30th among North American skaters in the final rankings.

Buchinger, a second round draft pick of the Storm in 2020, had five goals and 39 assists in his rookie season. He added three points in five playoff games.

Four other Storm players are also ranked among North American skaters.

- Danny Zhilkin, 35th

- Matt Poitras, 45th

- Jake Karabela, 62nd

- Braeden Bowman, 194th

Goaltender Jacob Oster was ranked 18th among North American goalies.

Winger Jack Devine, a sixth-round Storm pick in 2019 who plays at the University of Denver, is ranked 65th among North American skaters.

The draft is July 7 and July 8 in Montreal.
