BRANTFORD – A big ninth inning gave the Guelph Royals a 9-6 win over the Branford Red Sox Friday night during Intercounty Baseball League action.
An RBI double by Ethan Hammond, a Brendan Keys’ single and two more runs thanks to a pair of bases-loaded walks secured the win.
J.D. Williams led the Royals' offence, with a pair of hits, an RBI, and two runs scored. Conner Morro and Hammond had two RBI each.
Yomar Concepcion got the win, throwing seven solid innings, striking out six.
The Royals (8-15) host the Kitchener Panthers Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
