The Guelph Royals organization is looking to add to its ownership group.

And it’s turning to a firm with recent Intercounty Baseball League ties to help facilitate a deal.

Team owner Shawn Fuller has announced it wants to welcome “fresh partners to the team” by expanding the team’s ownership, and is seeking some new partners to come on board.

In a news release, Fuller said more owners have its advantages on not only the team’s performance, but also the enjoyment of the game.

“My goal from the beginning was to bring Guelph its 10th IBL championship,” he said. “That hasn’t changed one bit, and I remain committed to that inevitable outcome.”

Fuller said the plan is to distribute the workload, and hopes to “share this opportunity with those that have the same passion and enthusiasm for independent baseball.”

Cosmos Sports & Entertainment, a Toronto-based marketing firm, has been tapped to lead the charge to facilitate a deal. It’s the same company that led the way for the sale of the IBL’s Toronto Maple Leafs last fall.

“The IBL and the Royals are iconic and often underrated,” Cosmos president Cary Kaplan said in a news release.

“Aside from the Toronto Blue Jays, the IBL is by far the best baseball in southern Ontario and further offers an affordable family friendly experience.”

Anyone interested in joining the ownership group is asked to send an email to [email protected].
