David Frizzell has been named the new executive director of Guelph Soccer.

A longtime director with the OUA is taking over as the head of Guelph Soccer.

David Frizzell has been named the new executive director of Guelph Soccer, as of May 15.

Frizzell has been with Ontario University Athletics since June 2016, most recently working as the director of marketing and partnerships.

Before his job in the OUA, he worked with a number of Ontario Hockey League franchises over the course of 10 years, the latest being the executive vice president of the Niagara IceDogs.

"He is drawn to the meaningful work of creating opportunities for participation and growth through sport and in particular, soccer," Guelph Soccer said in a media release.

Frizzell takes over for Sara McConaghy, who left the role in February and moved on to the role of manager of development programming with Canada Soccer.
