The Guelph Storm has acquired veteran winger Justin DeZoete from the Mississauga Steelheads.

In exchange the Steelheads receive a seventh round pick in the 2026 OHL draft.

DeZoete, 19, had a goal in eight games this season. Last season he had 10 goals and 12 assists in 68 games with Mississauga and Peterborough.

A Hamilton native, DeZoete came to Mississauga as part of the trade with the Petes that saw Owen Beck go the other way.

He was originally a second-round pick in the OHL draft by Peterborough.

“Justin is a versatile two way forward that is able to play up and down the lineup and play in all situations,” said Storm general manager George Burnett in a news release. “He will provide some much needed experience and stability to our young group of forwards.”

DeZoete will wear number 27 for the Storm.

Guelph plays in North Bay Thursday, Sudbury Friday then returns home to host Ottawa on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
