The Guelph Storm has acquired overage defenceman Cameron Supryka from the Sarnia Sting.

In exchange the Sting receives a ninth round draft pick in the 2024 Priority Draft.

Supryka has a goal and four assists in 12 games this season with Sarnia.

Guelph will be Supryka's fourth team since being drafted in the third round of the 2017 draft by the Peterborough Petes. He also played in  Hamilton.

He becomes the Storm's lone overage player as they decided to start the season with all three overage positions vacant.

The six-foot-two, 185-pound Supryka is a left shot.

In 132 OHL games Supryka has five goals and 32 assists.

Sarnia had four overage players on its roster prior to making the trade.

Last week the Storm lost 19-year-old defenceman Michael Bianconi, who quit the team to pursue a hockey opportunity outside the OHL.

Guelph hosts the Owen Sound Attack on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and the Sarnia Sting on Saturday at 4 p.m.
