Guelph Storm edged in Erie

Otters score two in the third to pull out the victory

ERIE, PA. — The Erie Otters scored twice in the third period to pull out a 4-3 win over the Guelph Storm Wednesday night.

The game was tied 1-1 after one period and 2-2 heading into the third period. Daniel D'Amato and Brendan Sellan scored 2:53 apart early in the third to put the Otters up 4-2.

Pavel Gogolev's power play goal, his second of the game, with 45 seconds left brought Guelph within one, and Fedor Gordeev wristed one off the post with five seconds left, but Guelph couldn't tie it up.

Nico Daws made 37 saves in the Storm net and Daniil Chayka had Guelph's other goal.

The Storm hosts the Oshawa Generals on Friday.
