Guelph Storm falls in a shootout

SAGINAW, MI. - Defenceman Mason Millman scored the lone goal of a six-round shootout as the Guelph Storm lost 5-4 to the Saginaw Spirit Saturday night in Saginaw.

Millman has one goal in 16 games this season.

It was the seventh time Guelph has gone to overtime this season and the first time they have been involved in a shootout.

The Storm took its first lead of the game with 4:55 left in regulation on Dom Commisso's first goal in a Guelph uniform, making it a 4-3 game.

But Sagniaw's Reagan O'Grady scored on a long wrist shot 76 seconds later to tie the game and force overtime.

Zach Poirier scored twice for Guelph and Nate Schnarr had the other.

Ryan Merkley had four assists and Nico Daws made 27 saves in regulation and overtime plus five more in the shootout.
