The Guelph Storm will lose a pair of veteran players for the next while.

Winger Zander Veccia was handed a six-game suspension and defenceman Tommy Budnick was given a four-game suspension by the league Friday morning.

Veccia's suspension was for something he said during a melee against the Saginaw Spirit last Sunday.

Veccia is eligible to return March 19 when Guelph plays in Kitchener.

Budnick's suspension was for a match penalty he incurred after the final buzzer Wednesday night against the London Knights. During a scrum at the side of the Storm net Budnick punched London's Kasper Halttunen with a gloved hand. Halttunen went down but later skated off under his own power.

Budnick is eligible to return March 17 at home against Kitchener.

Guelph is on the road this weekend for games in Sault Ste. Marie Friday and Saginaw Sunday. They play in Windsor Thursday before hosting Saginaw at the Sleeman Centre the next night.
