SARNIA – A 35-save performance by rookie goaltender Jacob Oster and goals by Sasha Pastujov and Braeden Bowman fuelled the Guelph Storm to a 2-1 win over the Sarnia Sting Friday night.
The win improves Guelph's record to 2-3-1-0 on the season with a chance to get to the .500 mark against the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday at the Sleeman Centre. Game time is 2 p.m.
Pastujov opened the scoring with an unassisted effort midway through the second period Friday. Sarnia's Nolan Burke tied it seven minutes later to make it 1-1 heading into the third.
Bowman scored the game winner 59 seconds into the third period on the power play, assisted by Cam Allen.
Guelph outshot the Sting 41-36.
