After a disappointing loss to the Oakville Blue Devils last week, Guelph United FC has rebounded in a decisive fashion with a win against the league-leading North Toronto Nitros on the road on Saturday.

Guelph fell behind early on a goal by North Toronto’s Ali El-Zeir in the 29th minute, before responding with four unanswered goals to secure a 4 - 1 win.

Tomasz Skublak opened the scoring for Guelph at the end of the first half as he connected with Jared Agyemang off of a corner kick in the 44th minute, and Marcel Zajac followed it up with the game-winning goal less than two minutes into the second half.

Cole Fernandez would then score his first of the season to put the team up 3 -1. Last but not least, Skublak found the back of the net a second time to add some insurance for Guelph United FC.

With the win, Guelph improved to 4-2-1 on the season and sits in sixth place in the League1 Ontario men’s premier division.

Guelph’s next match will be at home at Alumni Stadium against the Unionville Milliken S.C. on Friday at 7:30 pm.
