Guelph native Logan Morrison has signed his first NHL contract.

The Seattle Kraken announced they have signed the local to a three-year, entry-level contract Tuesday.

Morrison, who was named the OHL playoff MVP last season while playing with the OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs, recorded 94 points in 56 games this season with the Ottawa 67's.

The Guelph Minor Hockey Association product was undrafted in the NHL and signed as a free agent.

The 67's are in the midst of a playoff push. After downing the Oshawa Generals in five games, Ottawa will host Peterborough for Game 1 of their second round series Friday.

His 10 points in the playoffs include a league-high seven goals, and he has put up a point in every one of his 28 career postseason games.

Morrison is Ottawa's Red Tilson Trophy nominee for the OHL's most outstanding player during the regular season.
