Hurricanes run into penalty trouble

The Guelph  Hurricanes surrendered four power play goals in a 6-2 loss to the Elmira Sugar Kings Sunday in Elmira.

The loss evened their opening-round best-of-seven playoff series at a game apiece. Game 3 goes Tuesday in Guelph.

The Sugar Kings led 2-1 after one period and 3-1 after two before three straight power play goals in the third period blew the game wide open.

Nick Bird and Corson Searles scored for the Hurricanes. Ethan Skinner had three goals and three assists for Elmira.

Jason DaSilva made 18 saves in the Guelph net.
