The Guelph Storm's all-time leading scorer is heading back to the Royal City for a special night.

Jeff O'Neill will be in attendance at the Guelph Sports Celebrity Dinner and Induction Ceremony Wednesday, when his former general manager Mike Kelly is inducted.

O'Neill was the first-ever pick in franchise history when Kelly took him first overall in the 1992 OHL Priority Selection. He went on to play three seasons in Guelph, and established multiple records that still hold up today.

He is the franchise leader in points with 329, and also holds single-season records with 126 points, 81 assists – which he did twice – and 79 points as a rookie.

His number 92 is one of four jerseys retired by the Storm.

After an 11-year NHL career with the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs – where he posted 496 points in 821 games – he turned to broadcasting and now co-hosts TSN Overdrive.

Toronto Argonauts wide receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. will also join the festivities.

Gittens Jr. and his Argo teammates are participating in training camp this week at Alumni Stadium. Gittens Jr. topped 1,100 yards receiving last season, as the team capped off 2022 with a Grey Cup championship.

O'Neill's former Storm teammate Todd Bertuzzi and Canadian World Cup soccer player Helen Stoumbos have previously been announced as guests.
