McEwan's overtime tally lifts Storm to victory

FLINT, MI.—James McEwan scored with 55 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Guelph Storm a 3-2 victory over the Flint Firebirds Saturday night.

GarrettMcFadden, whose power play goal at 12:25 of the third period tied the game, assisted on the winner.

Ryan Merkley, also on the power play, had the other Guelph goal.

Anthony Popovich made 43 saves in the Storm net.

Cam Hillis and Nate Schnarr picked up assists for Guelph.

The game was tied 1-1 after 20 minutes and the second period was scoreless.

The Storm returns to action Friday when they host the North Bay Battalion.
