Nighthawks in a tailspin

Losers of five straight, they will host Montreal at the Sleeman Centre on Wednesday

ST. CATHARINES – The Guelph Nighthawks dropped their fifth in a row Saturday night, falling to the Niagara River Lions 101-88.

Guelph trailed by eight points at the half and as many as 14 in the second half.

Ahmed Hill led Guelph with 20 points and Cat Barber had 17 points and nine assists.

The Nighthawks host the Montreal Alliance Wednesday at 7 p.m. in their second-last home game of the regular season. They currenly sit in seventh place in the 10-team league.
