The poor quality air in the area is forcing some youth sports activities to pull the plug.
Guelph Soccer has confirmed it has decided to cancel programming this evening. Guelph Minor Baseball has also confirmed all its outdoor programming is cancelled.
Guelph is currently part of a broad air quality statement due to ongoing forest fires that recommends stopping outdoor activities.
"Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations," said Environment Canada. "Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke."
