SARNIA – The Sarnia Sting tied the game with just under two minutes left in regulation then won it 10:30 into overtime Sunday afternoon over the Guelph Storm.

The 5-4 victory gives the Sting a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven opening round series. Game 3 is Tuesday night in Guelph.

Guelph played a much better game than Game 1 and it looked like they might pull out the win when Cooper Walker's power play goal tied the game late in the second period then a Jake Karabela rebound goal two minutes into the third gave them a 4-3 lead.

But former Storm forward Marko Sikic tied the game with 1:58 in regulation.

On the overtime winner, Burke won the faceoff deep in the Guelph zone then went hard to the net. A wrister from the point hit his skate and beat Brayden Gillespie in the Storm net. The play was reviewed but ruled legal as Burke didn't appear to intentially direct the puck into the net with his skate.

Guelph did not have a shot on net in overtime.

Gillespie made 30 saves for Guelph. Ben Gaudreau made 31 in the Sarnia net.

Ben McFarlane and Max Namestinikov scored in the first period for Guelph in a game tied 2-2 after 20 minutes and 3-3 after 40 minutes.
