OWEN SOUND — Pavel Gogolev scored all four goals and rookie goaltender Owen Bennett made 30 saves Tuesday night as the Guelph Storm downed the Owen Sound Attack 4-3.

Gogolev staked Guelph to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes then after Owen Sound scored twice early in the second period to tie it, he gave Guelph a 3-2 lead midway through the second.

He made it 4-2 at 14:23 of the third with his 20th goal of the season, but Owen Sound's Barret Kirwin made it 4-3 with 4:03 left in regulation, but Guelph held on for the win.

Cam Hillis assisted on three of his goals.

Guelph sits all alone in first place in the Western Conference, two points up on the London Knights and four points ahead of the Flint Firebirds. Just 10 points separates first place from eighth place in the conference.

The Storm hosts Windsor on Friday and Kitchener Saturday before finishing the first half of the season with a game in Oshawa on Sunday.
