PETERBOROUGH - Rookie Anthony Popovich made 27 saves and Givani Smith scored twice as the Guelph Storm downed the Peterborough Petes 4-0 in exhibition action Thursday night.
James McEwan and Albert Michnac, with his third of the pre-season, had the other Storm goals.
Russian defenceman Dmitri Samorukov made his debut in a Storm uniform and picked up an assist.
Guelph now has a 2-1 record in the pre-season. They host the Mississauga Steelheads Friday night at 7:30 then wrap up their exhibition schedule with a game in Mississauga on Sunday.
