ERIE – Carey Terrance scored what proved to be the game-winning goal 55 seconds into the third period as the Erie Otters downed the Guelph Storm Saturday night in Erie.
The loss was Guelph's fourth in a row and 11th in its last 12 games.
Guelph led 2-0 in the first period on goals by Vilmer Alriksson and Jett Luchanko. Erie made it 2-1 before the period ended then added one in the second and the winner in the third.
Damian Slavik faced 34 shots in the Storm net as Guelph was outshot 34-25. They went 0-for-7 on the power play.
Guelph was missing six regulars: Brayden Hislop, Parker Snelgrove, Michael Buchinger and Gavin Grundner to injury, Quinn Beauchesne to illness and Ryan McGuire to suspension, the first of two games for cumulative check-to-the head penalties.
Guelph hosts Owen Sound on Friday.
