Storm gives up four power play goals in loss to Ottawa

OTTAWA – Bad penalties and bad penalty killing were the Guelph Storm's undoing Sunday as they lost 6-3 on the road against the Ottawa 67s.

Ottawa scored four goals on the power play, including a pair in the third period on a five-minute major to Guelph's Matt Poitras, who received a major and a game misconduct for slew footing. That carries a minimum two-game suspension.

Guelph is now 1-5-1-0 on he season, has given up 17 power play goals in its seven games.

Ottawa remains perfect, now 6-0 to start the season.

Cooper Walker and Michael Buchinger had shorthanded goals for Guelph. Braeden Bowman had the other goal.

Jacob Oster made 37 saves in the Storm net.

Guelph has a pair of home games this coming week, Friday Oshawa visits and Saturday night Kitchener is in town.
