Storm polishes off big comeback with shootout win

BRANTFORD – The Guelph Storm rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game in regulation then scored the lone goal of the shootout to down the Brantford Bulldogs 5-4 on the road Wednesday.

Jett Luchanko had the lone Storm goal of the shootout and Brayden Gillespie, who made 37 saves in regulation, stopped all three Brantford attempts.

Luchanko had three assists in regulation.

Things started horribly for Guelph, with Brantford building up a 4-0 lead by the 7:13 mark of the second period.

But the Storm scored three goals in the final 6:13 of the second and Max Namestnikov tied it up on the power play early in the third.

Namestnikov and Braeden Bowman each scored twice for the Storm, Luchanko had three assists and Michael Buchinger had a pair.

Guelph plays in Ottawa Friday and Kingston Saturday.
