Storm suffers first loss of pre-season

Guelph now 2-1 in exhibition action following a 4-2 loss to Kitchener in Ayr on Monday

AYR – Import Adam Zidlicky scored a pair of goals as the Kitchener Rangers downed the Guelph Storm 4-2 in a pre-season game played in Ayr on Monday afternoon.

Guelph is now 2-1 on the pre-season.

The game was tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, then the Rangers scored a pair of unanswered goals in the second period. Kitchener's fourth goal came into an empty net.

Braeden Bowman scored his fifth goal of the pre-season and Charlie Paquette notched his second for the Storm.

Jacob Oster and Dixon Grimes split the goaltending duties, with Oster allowing the three goals on 12 shots.

Guelph hosts Oshawa Friday as exhibition play continues, then plays in Oshawa on Sunday.
