The tradition continues. The Tarlton-Robertson Memorial Masters Bonspiel, which began in 1933, is again being hosted by the Guelph Curling Club on Jan. 14 and 15, 2019. This is probably the world’s oldest continuously played annual Masters bonspiel. Participants in this two-day event must be at least 60 years of age.

The Bonspiel is limited to 32 teams of four players each. There will be two sections and each team will play two games each day. Games are scheduled to commence at 8 a.m. 10:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. Spectators are welcome. Admission is free.

Teams will be competing for four trophies: the TARLTON, the ROBERTSON, the SLEEMAN and the BARBER.

Competing teams will come from various locations from around the province, with many teams returning on a regular basis. Competition will be keen – these over-sixty gentlemen have not lost their touch.

Visitors can find the Guelph Curling Club at 816 Woolwich St. (Highway 6 just north of  the City limits). The Club is licensed by the L.C.B.O. and lunches are available. Come and enjoy the fun and some fine curling.
