The Guelph Royals finally got to open their Intercounty Baseball League season on Saturday.
After a pair of games were cancelled last weekend due to poor field conditions, the Royals hosted the London Majors at Hastings Stadium.
It didn't go well, as the Royals managed just one hit in a 16-0 loss to London, last season's Intercounty regular season champions.
The Royals will host the Kitchener Panthers on holiday Monday in a 2 p.m. Start.
On Saturday, London scored five runs in the second inning and three in the third before coasting to the victory.
Guelph's five pitchers in the game surrendered 10 hits, walked 10 batters and hit five batters. Guelph's lone hit on the afternoon was an infield single by Jeff McLeod.
The Royals return just eight players off last year's team that finished dead last with a 7-29 record.
