Maple Leafs sign forward Adam Brooks to entry-level contract

TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Adam Brooks to a three-year entry level contract. The 21-year-old had 43 goals and 87 assists in 66 regular-season games with the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats last season.

The 21-year-old had 43 goals and 87 assists in 66 regular-season games with the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats last season. The Winnipeg native added 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 17 playoff games.

Brooks finished his WHL career with 119 goals and 216 assists for 335 points in 317 regular-season games, in adding 16 goals and 33 assists in 42 playoff games, all with Regina.

He was named a WHL (East) first team all-star on two occasions (2015-16, 2016-17) and won the WHL's Bobby Clarke Trophy in 2015-16 as the league's top scorer.

Brooks was originally drafted by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round, 92nd overall, at the 2016 NHL draft.
