Christian Wolanin scores in overtime, lifts AHL Senators over Marlies 5-4

BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Christian Wolanin scored his second goal of the game 1:29 into overtime as the Belleville Senators edged the Toronto Marlies 5-4 on Friday in American Hockey League action.

Jack Rodewald had a goal and two assists while Logan Brown and Jordan Murray also scored for the Senators (8-8-0), Ottawa's AHL affiliate. Paul Carey chipped in with four helpers, including one on Wolanin's winner.

Chris Mueller struck twice and Pierre Engvall and Rasmus Sandin also found the back of the net for the Marlies (5-6-3), AHL partner of the Maple Leafs.

Murray and Wolanin scored 15 seconds apart for a 4-2 lead by the 1:26 mark of the third period before Sandin and Mueller responded to force the extra period.

Filip Gustavsson made 29 saves for the win as Eamon McAdam stopped 22-of-27 shots in a losing cause.

Belleville went 1 for 5 on the power play while Toronto was 1 for 7.
