A teenage female faces charges after another female was stabbed during an altercation Friday afternoon.
Approximately 12:45 p.m., emergency services were called to a residence on Silvercreek Parkway North. Investigation revealed a verbal dispute between two females turned physical and one was stabbed in the shoulder area.
The 16-year-old victim was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre for treatment. She is back home recovering. The suspect fled prior to police arrival but was located and arrested a short time later.
A 14-year-old Guelph female is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. She will appear in a Guelph court Feb. 22.
