16-year-old Guelph youth accused of pointing gun at passing motorists

On Aug. 1, 2018 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Guelph Police were contacted by a concerned citizen regarding the behaviour of three males in the area of the Hanlon Expressway and College Avenue West. The males were crossing the intersection and it is alleged that one of the males was carrying what appeared to be a handgun, which he was pointing at passing vehicles. The citizen pulled his vehicle over and contacted police and while pulled over, the males allegedly approached the vehicle, banged on the window and pointed the gun at the citizen as they walked away.

Based on the description provided, police were able to locate the three males. All three males were in possession of BB guns and one male was also in possession of a knife.

As a result, one of the males, a 16-year-old Guelph youth, was arrested and charged with weapons dangerous and carry concealed weapon. The other two males were also youths. They were cautioned and returned to family members.
