A 17-year-old Guelph male has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. The victim is in stable condition in hospital.

Witness interviews are ongoing and police are asking any witnesses to contact D/Cst. Cameron McKeen at 519-824-1212 X 7361.

Sept. 3, 5 p.m. update:

Police can now confirm that there was a stabbing at College Heights involving two students. A male victim has been transported to a trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A male suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody. Police are still at the school and could be there for some time as this is an ongoing investigation. 

Original Sept. 3 release:
College Heights Incident at College Heights On Sept. 3, 2019 at approximately 3 p.m., Guelph police were called to College Heights Secondary School where there was a report of a serious incident.

There continues to be a large police presence at the school as there is an ongoing investigation. Guelph police want to confirm that this is not an active situation nor is there any danger to the public, including the students.

The investigation is in its very early stages, thus, no further information is available at this time.
There will be a follow up media release tomorrow morning with more details. For now, police would like to reiterate this is not an active situation; there is no danger to the public or any of the students.
