18-year-old accused of driving over 155 km/h in an 80 zone

On April 12, 2020, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 near Side Road 15 in the Township of Wellington North. 

The officer observed a silver motor vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 155 km/h.

Armaan Dutta, 18-years-old of Brampton has been charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on July 15, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
