18-year-old charged with fleeing accident scene

He's accused of hitting a taxi with his pickup truck

On Dec. 30, 2018 at approximately 2:14 a.m., a black pickup truck struck a taxi while travelling southbound on Wyndham Street, just south of Carden Street. The pickup then fled the scene, continuing southbound on Wyndham Street. 

The pick-up would have extensive damage to the front passenger side, and possibly missing part of its bumper. 

Update:
On Dec. 30, 2018, Tyrone Barnes, an 18-year-old Guelph male, attended to the Collision Reporting Centre to report his black pickup truck sustained significant damage while parked overnight in the area of Neeve Street and Cross Street.

Through investigation, on Jan. 3, 2019, Barnes was arrested for fail to stop after an accident, obstruct police, and careless driving.

Barnes is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 19, 2019.
