85-year-old man reported missing to OPP (UPDATE: Returned home safe)

Richard Grant Whittaker was last heard from yesterday afternoon as he was driving to an appointment near Fergus

Update: OPP report that the missing man returned home just before 3 p.m. on Thursday.

TOWN OF ERIN - On Nov. 4, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing person who was last observed in the area of Wellington Road 124 and Trafalgar Road in the Town of Erin.

Richard Grant Whittaker, 85 years old of Fergus, was last heard from yesterday afternoon when he contacted a relative stating that he became lost. It's believed that he became disoriented while attempting to drive to an appointment near Fergus. It's believed he is not familiar with the area.

He is described as male, white, 5'4 in height, 210 lbs in weight with brown eyes and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing grey sweat shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and possibly a red hat.

Mr. Whittaker may be operating a grey 2006 GMC Canyon with Ontario plate 03FM93.

Family and police are concerned for his safety and well-being.
