Alleged impaired driver stopped for travelling too slow, weaving

Police reportedly spotted a vehicle going well below the speed limit and weaving within its lane on Sunday, leading to a traffic stop and impaired driving charge.

The incident happened shortly after noon, involving a vehicle heading south on Gordon Street near Kortright Road, a police news release explains. The vehicle was allegedly travelling 30 km/h.

A roadside breath test was administered, resulting in a ‘fail’ result. 

A 29-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving and having a blood/alcohol of more than 80 mgs.

In addition to the charges, the man’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for a week.
