A Kitchener woman has been arrested following an incident in which thieves dropped a phone while stealing hundreds of dollars in Pokemon cards from a Guelph business.

The evening of Feb. 9, police were called to a business on Stone Road West. A male and female placed several boxes of the trading cards in shopping bags and left the store. Staff tried to stop them and followed them outside, where one of the suspects dropped their phone while they were running to their vehicle.

The staff member was able to take photos of the suspects, leading to their identification.

A 36-year-old Kitchener woman turned herself in earlier this week and is charged with theft under $5,000. A 35-year-old Ajax man turned himself in late last month and is facing the same charge.
