Already charged with numerous offences, two face additional drug, weapons charges

In July 2018, the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Freeman Avenue where fentanyl/heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, cash, as well as firearms were seized. The parties were not located at that time and two parties, Jessica Withey, a 22-year-old Guelph female and Zane Andrews, a 35-year-old Guelph male were wanted on numerous charges.

In September, Withey turned herself into police, but Andrews remained wanted.

This past month, the Drug Unit began a further investigation into these two parties. As a result, at approximately 9:28 p.m, Withey and Andrews were arrested at a hotel on Gordon Street. Andrews was arrested on the strength of the warrant for three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, six counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm. Withey was arrested as she was breaching her undertaking by communicating with Andrews.

Search incident to arrest and police located what is believed to be cocaine with a street value of $5,500, as well as cash. Both Withey and Andrews now face more charges as a result of this incident.

They are set to appear in court on Nov. 29, 2018.
