Argument between neighbours turns physical, police say

Friendly drinks between neighbours turn not so friendly, according to police

Guelph police are reporting that a Guelph female faces assault charges after an argument between neighbours turned physical Friday evening.

Police were dispatched to an address on Woolwich Street near Speedvale Avenue West at approximately 7:15 p.m. A male reported he was having a few drinks with a female neighbour when they began arguing about some money the male owed the female.

The female became upset and attempted to choke the male, causing several small cuts to his neck, then punched him in the face several times causing cuts to his mouth area. Officers located the female and placed her under arrest.

A 37-year-old Guelph female is charged with assault and choking. She will appear in a Guelph court Dec. 10.
