A Guelph man faces assault charges after another man was kicked in the face downtown Monday afternoon.
Approximately 5:35 p.m. the victim was sitting on a bench on Quebec Street when he was kicked without provocation. The suspect then punched two or three other people in the face, however those victims were unwilling to provide a statement.
Officers arrived and located the suspect, who became actively resistant, pulling away from officers. He was eventually subdued and arrested.
A 28-year-old man is charged with assault, resisting arrest and two counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
