A Guelph male faces several charges after two males broke into a downtown mall Sunday night.

Approximately 10:20 p.m. Sunday, two males forced their way into the Old Quebec Street Shoppes. They were captured on video attempting to enter individual businesses but were not successful.

On Monday afternoon, Old Quebec Street security called police to report one of the males was back on the property wearing the same clothes as in the video. Officers attended and placed the male under arrest.

A search incident to arrest revealed stolen property including identification and cheques in other people’s names. A 37-year-old Guelph male is charged with break and enter, possessing stolen property, possessing identity documents and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
