A Guelph man faces several charges following a vandalism spree Friday evening, Guelph police report.

Approximately 7:40 p.m. Friday, police received a dropped 911 call from an address near Willow Road and Dawson Road. Officers arrived and found a man using a piece of wood to damage the window of a home. He refused to comply with officers and physically struggled for approximately one minute before he was arrested and handcuffed.

Subsequent investigation revealed the male had earlier damaged two nearby businesses, torn the side mirror off a vehicle and threw a table through a window at a different residence in the area. The total damage is in excess of $2,000.

A 40-year-old man is charged with six counts of mischief under $5,000 and resisting arrest. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court May 12.
