A Guelph man faces several charges after a stolen vehicle struck two police vehicles last week.

On Friday, March 24, police spotted a vehicle parked in the area of Woodlawn Road East and Montana Road. Investigation revealed it had been reported stolen earlier in the month.

As officers watched the vehicle, a man was seen getting in and reversing from a driveway. Officers drove towards the vehicle in an attempt to stop it, but the driver intentionally reversed into the cruiser, striking the front end. He also struck a second cruiser and sped away, but officers were able to identify him based on previous interactions. No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday afternoon, police located the stolen vehicle at an address outside Guelph. The vehicle was recovered and a man arrested.

A 36 year old is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, occupying a stolen motor vehicle, flight from police, two counts of failing to remain at a collision, several counts of driving while disqualified and two counts of breaching a bail order. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
