A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after a woman was assaulted during a dispute over a hidden camera.
Last Thursday, Guelph police were informed of an assault which had taken place in a residence on Speedvale Avenue West. A woman reported she had been staying with an acquaintance for a few days when she noticed a camera in the room where she was changing her clothes.
She confronted the homeowner. A physical confrontation ensued, during which she was struck several times with a bat and had her phone broken. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries including a broken hand.
A 46-year-old man is charged with assault causing bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief and voyeurism. He was held for a bail hearing.
