Guelph police are investigating a commercial break and enter early Tuesday morning that was completed in a matter of seconds.

The owner of a business on Silvercreek Parkway North near Willow Road called police approximately 4:45 a.m. Video surveillance revealed a male approaching the back of the business 20 minutes earlier carrying a rock, which he used to strike and break the door handle, police report.

The male went straight to an office area and stole a cash drawer containing an unknown amount of cash. He was inside the business for just 12 seconds. He is described as a white male with a thin build wearing a black hoodie with a white triangle-shaped logo on the rear right shoulder, black pants, a red baseball cap, black shoes with white soles and gloves.

The incident remains under investigation.
