Car stolen in Guelph found before it was shipped to South America

Police say the Lexus stolen from a city dealership was found in a shipping container in Nova Scotia that was bound for Guyana

A motor vehicle stolen last month from a Guelph car dealership has been located in Nova Scotia on a shipping container destined for South America.

The 2019 Lexus motor vehicle was stolen from a north-end dealership the evening of June 12. On Monday morning, the Guelph Police Service was informed the vehicle had been located in Halifax on a container bound for Guyana.

A fake Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) tag had been attached, but investigation by Canadian Border Services Agency officials revealed it was stolen.
